What do you like about your job? “I love meeting new people and it’s great that I get to travel and experience a variety of business cultures”
Have you always worked in recruitment? “No I started out looking after the old IBM AS400 system for a well know home security firm, then I went traveling for a bit before ending up working for Lloyds Bank in small businesses, which then led to a job offer in recruitment from one of my clients...the rest is history”
What would be your dream job? “always loved music and playing the guitar with my mates in a band, so maybe ...a rockstar? Haha!” |
Yunis – Managing Director
From starting out as a Trainee Programmer with Grattan Mail Order in 1989, I spent the next 12 years in IT software development and Project Management. Working on one of the most advanced warehousing and distribution systems at NEXT/Grattan to working on a huge supply chain system with Nissan. I’ve worked my way up through the development roles and have a wide range of technical and project management experience. My last 3 years in IT were with Nissan working as a contractor, so I’ve been on the coal face as it were and I can see both the client’s and the candidate’s perspective when it comes to contracting.
I started in recruitment in 2004, as having a young family, I needed a more stable base. We had a fantastic few years supplying all manner of industrial and commercial staff to companies throughout West Yorkshire. The last 2 years have seen us branch out into the IT sector, both contractors and permanent staff.
I’m very driven, highly motivated and believe that satisfying the needs of my clients is my number 1 priority. To that end I will leave no stone unturned to ensure my clients get the very best service I can possibly provide.
When I’m not at work, I like to chill totally, walk my Labrador, Bella who is great fun and spend time with my family. I don’t get the chance to play golf as regularly as I used to, but still manage a few rounds a year! |
Terry –Business Development Manager
At the start of my working life, I studied for 5 years (sponsored by my employer, the Kent County Council) to become a Cost and Management Accountant.
Having qualified, I was appointed to the post of Kent County Transport Administration Manager and tasked with the acquisition of a computerised fleet management system.
Following the acquisition of a system from ROCC Computers, I was offered a sales executive role – “gamekeeper turned poacher” – selling to Local Authorities.
That was the start of an IT sales career that has spanned 27 years, working for ICL, Sherwood, Data General, Bull, Integris and Steria and some other smaller IT organisations.
Outside of the workplace, I was a keen sportsman (until my knees refused to work) and I remain a very keen family man. The latest addition to the family, my grandson Finlay, arrived on 5th November 2011. |
